1940 WW2 Crams Rockefeller Atlas illuminated Glass World Globe

1940 WW2 Crams Rockefeller Atlas illuminated Glass World Globe

$1,095.00
Finished in bronze and copper over cast metal, the majestic artifact stands 23 inches tall with a 12 diameter of the orb. When illuminated, this handsome statue offers an intimate ambiance. Individual, hand applied paper gores over a glass orb reminds one of a craft from the past. Golden instead of more common green oceans add additional warmth to the handsome object de art. Politically the map depicts the world at a very specific moment in time, WW2 ( 1940). The German Reich has advanced into much of Europe as Austria is annexed and former Czechoslovakia occupied by the German Regime (1938-39). Manchuria is occupied by Japan (1932-45). Italian East Africa is well documented, which existed for only a few years, 1936-41. The Atlas has aged well; minor scuffing and pitting of the finish is present but no corrosion. The light is functional; the walnut base could use a buffing but is overall well preserved.. The map itself offers a perfectly aged patina with minor imperfections .(wrinkles, scuffing) Exceptionally rare, this object d'art can also be found at the National Library of Austria Globe Museum. This is more than just a fine investment; we are offering an heirloom for generations to come. A splendid Art Deco Artifact for the disconcerting collector. Secure, domestic shipping will be $24.00. International shipping is priced at $65. $1,095 — Item #: 0214CRATLAS40 - SOLD
