An attractive 1936 pre WW2 Art Deco Masterpiece by Replogle

$395.00
This rare masterpiece combines form and function at its best. Interesting in design and display, the map shares a world ready to go to war. Manchuria has been occupied by the Japanese Empire (1932-45) though Germany has not yet annexed Austria (1938). Persia has changed to Iran(1936) while Italian presence in Africa is identified (1936-41). Sleek, almost minimalistic in design, art deco details are clearly infused. This is a truly “worldly” globe as the base shows cities around the world lined up accordingly to time zones. This model was also available in another version as a fully functional clock. A fine piece for the “globe trotter” of yester years! Description: The 10 inch diameter pasteboard orb has black instead of green oceans, offering a fine contrast to bold colored lands. Mounted into a full meridian finished in polished chrome, which attaches to a the base. A band citing global cities is visible around the base. Ttoal height is approx. 15.5 inches. Condition: Well preserved. Colors are bold, details crisp. Minor scuffing throughout. No cracks or corrosion. Well packed, this fine artifact will be shipped domestic for $18.00, $52.00 world wide. $395 — Item #: 313REPBLK36
