Mod 1968 School Globe by Denoyer Geppert
Mod 1968 School Globe by Denoyer Geppert
$198.00
Quite a mod piece, this school globe has a very functional cradle design in which the globe can be removed from the base. Exceptionally well made by Denoyer Geppert, a company that pride itself in well constructed globe. In existence from 1908 until the late 1960s the company produced some of the finest terrestrial and celestial globes ever made. Though the increasingly competitive market of cheaper but also poorer quality globes was not forgiving to the higher priced but much better products by Denoyer Geppert. The globe we are offering is one of the last production years as the company closed its door shortly after.
The 12 inch globe is well maintained and removable from its cradle style base. The map has a dated cartouche 1968 and offers physical in addition to basic political details. Some minor soiling and scuffing throughout (one must remember it was a school globe!)
The blond maple base also has a horizon ring, displaying compass details.
Total height is about 15.5 inches with a total diameter of 16 inches.
