This vintage world globe offers endless ways to utilize it! Featuring classic Scandinavian style, the all white design can be used to practice geography lessons, write inspirational messages, track your travels, and so much more. Made by Scan-Globe A-S in Copenhagen, Denmark, the instrument has the classic minimalist look of the region. The cartouche identifies the date of production as 1978. The plastic orb is covered with a thin plastic that can be written on and then easily wiped off. Longitude, latitude, and political boundaries are the only marking on the globe allowing a world of possibilities. The 12 inch diameter sphere sits in a numeric engraved metal half meridian. A simplistic base with a two toned color scheme complete the piece. The globe is overall well preserved with age appropriate wear. There is one small nick in the plastic covering that can be found in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Near the Arctic Circle, there is also a small hole that also pierces the plastic orb. The hole appears to have been intentionally made, as the axis was running through this hole when I found the globe in Budapest. Finally, there is a small crack in the base but it is still structurally sound. The price reflects these condition issues.
