Replogle Starlight Illuminated Glass Globe. 1950

When illuminated, this globe offers a splendid warm glow and will certainly provide a nice ambiance in any environment. The black oceans contrast the gold, orange and green colorings of the land mass quite well. The individual gores of the map have been hand mounted onto the heavy glass sphere.

The political display on the map shows the dawn of the cold war, Germany is divided though still has one capitol: Berlin.

The globe itself is also in fine condition, no scuffing or rubbing, details crisp and colors are brilliant. The mounting is in good condition, no cracks there is minimal dulling to the chrome. No signs of rust. The light is functional.

The age of the globe has been identified by the political borders displayed: Israel present, Korea un-divided, Indochina still present.
