Dietrich Reimers Erdglobus, dated 1910

Reimers was one of the most prolific German Globe makers of the 19th century and set the standard high for other globe makers to follow. The map of this splendid aged piece of history speaks of an era long gone, filled with empires, kingdoms and the birth of early democracy. The attractive detailed mounting with enclosed compass demonstrates the classic German attribute of attention to detail. A masterpiece throughout.

Coated paper gores over pasteboard sphere secured in incremented brass half meridian. Baluster turned column and plinth base. Approx 22” Tall and 10.5” Diameter

Age appropriate wear, light skuffs and abrasion, age toning. with only mild fading visible and nicks/abrasion
