A Fantastic Space – Age Era Mechanical Artifact (Satellite Orbit Demonstrator)

This retro 1960’s mechanical Satellite Orbit Demonstrator offers several mechanical functions. Equipped with an electrical motor, the following three functions can be demonstrated:
-Rotation of Earth
-Orbit of Satellite
-Rotation of Earth and Satellite orbiting at the same time.


A fine educational tool of the past and unique conversation starter of the present, this model is quite a collector’s item. Equipped with a Synchron electrical motor, the globe is attached on the base to rotate. A second motor on top of the half meridian rotates the satellite. A turn knob allows determining rotation of Earth, Satellite individual or both in motion at the same time. The globe itself is a physical political relief model, showing only out lines of political borders but physical characteristics of area. Base, meridian and satellite are made of metal; the globe is made of paste board. Diameter of the Globe is 12” , total height including exterior meridian is 24 inches.

This model is very clean and functional. Minimal scuffing and rubbing is visible. All mechanics are functional.
