Mid Century Modern Globes

The prosperity of peace has replaced the despair of war. Modernism is embraced to its fullest in design as well as lifestyle - the future looks bright.

The time of Freedom has come, as one by one, nations in Africa and other colonized lands gain independence.
Though the atomic space age has a dark political side: It is the rise of the cold war era, the race to the moon has begun.

The propaganda machine of world powers produced some of the most unique globes, demonstrating satellite orbit or celebrating space advancements, such as the first manned rocket flight. No other time produced more “atomic” or futuristic designed globes than the mid-century-modern era.

However,  the lands on Cram's models are colored in browns, greens and tans instead of the more vivid colors used by the competition. Thus, Cram's version made for a more subtle presentation and distinguished itself from others. Overall a fine, more reserved looking globe.
