Cram's Black Oceans 12"
1948
Cram’s followed Weber Costello and Replogle
by offering a globe model with black oceans. However, the
lands on Cram's models are colored in browns, greens and tans
instead of the more vivid colors used by the competition.
Thus, Cram's version made for a more subtle presentation and
distinguished itself from others. Overall a fine, more reserved
looking globe.

A Petite Cram’s 9 Inch Globe
1961
Unique mounting and politically important display,
in nearly perfect condition. A Cold War relic
itself, the map of this globe speaks of a politically very
intense time, 1961. It shows the short-lived
United Arab Republic, a Union between Egypt and Syria that
lasted for only 4 years (1958-61). No scuffing
and very minimal soiling, one wrinkle. Colors are brilliant,
details crisp.

Columbus 28" Duo (Illuminated)
c1961
It is a true masterpiece in design and technology
of its time. The globe has a Duo map. Only when illuminated,
the legend reveals ocean depths in addition to the regular
display. Invented by Paul Oestergaard Jr., that technology
is the most imitated design in the Globe Industry to this
day. Only the most affluent society of post
war Germany could afford this model with a price tag of 5000
German Marks, the equivalent of what a small car sold for.

Replogle Globe Pair c1973
A classic representation from the early 1970s. The
political borders on the terrestrial globe highlight the Cold
War Era, showing a divided Germany as well as the USSR. The
celestial orb in a beautiful bold blue and gold coloring identifies
constellations, the Milky Way and much more. A fine compliment
to the terrestrial version.
