A classic Crams Universal
terrestrial Globe with very “retro”
styled meridian c1956
This is a well preserved
model that highlights the dawn of the Cold War,
as Germany is still shown pre-division. This particular
style globe may awaken childhood memories, as it
was to be the standard model for a teacher’s
desk.
The globe itself is made
of pasteboard with a hollow orb; mounted into a
metal retro styled half meridian in matte gold finish,
connected to a typical post - war “beige”
metal base.
A few light skuffs and
very minimal staining, Colors are brilliant, details
crisp. Center tape complete and nearly perfect.
The age of the globe has
been identified by the political borders displayed:
Palestine has been replaced by Israel, Korea has
not yet been divided. Vietnam is displayed as Indochina.
